OH7UG - history

First licensed Spring 1972 as OH7UG - Finnish Novice Class license. As a novice used homebrew/war surplus gear (RX - modified Fug E-10K German wartime airplane 3-6 Mhz receiver with converters to higher bands and initially 6L6 then 807 -based CW transmitter.
Early 1973 I got General Class License (highest in Finland). I was quite active until 1976 when graduated from high school. Had a Heathkit SB-101 -line and a homebrew kW linear (with 2x 3-500Zs).
1976-77 - served in Finnish Army - got first class telegraphy (morse) certificate with 100 chars/min with straight key. Studied in Helsinki University of Technology 1977-1982. M.Sc (Eng) Spring 1982 in Computer Technology.
No activity since then until Summer 2004 when bought an Icom 756 on an US trip. Used an ad-hoc long wire (82 m long, at 8-10 m) until October 2007 when installed the 80 m vertical. Nowadays active weekly on HF, mainly on 80, 40 and 30 m CW. Worked 260+ countries/40 Zones mainly on CW.
